Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Aerosmith and Lil Wayne will feature at the iHeartRadio Music Festival 2012

She said: "Unfortunately, last year I couldn't be part of the iHeartRadio Music Festival because I was on tour and I just saw everyone tweeting about it, talking about it, streaming it live on the internet and just saw how exciting and amazing it was. And I just thought, 'Next year, I'm saving the date. I'm making sure that I'm there'.

"The idea that you can bring so many formats and genres of music together and have everyone appreciating it just highlights the differences between different musical acts and makes that a cool thing. It's those magical shows that make you want to continue to do this for the rest of your life."

Ryan Seacrest will introduce the first night's show and he believes this year's lineup which also includes Calvin Harris, Swedish House Mafia and No Doubt - will be "bigger and better" than 2011's event, which featured Jay-Z, Coldplay and Carrie Underwood.

He said in a statement: "Last year's iHeartRadio Music Festival had so many acts from so many different genres on one stage, a true rarity for a concert. This year it's set to be bigger and better, with an unbelievable roster of some of the most talented names in the music business."

The concert will play live on iHeartRadio.com and Clear Channel stations nationwide.

Tickets for the iHeartRadio Music Festival 2012 go on sale July 14.
