Taylor Swift: "Don't let a guy be your world"

She might have made millions from singing about boys she's split up with, but We Are Never Ever Ever Getting Back Together singer Taylor Swift has given her fans some wise words on actually going out with boys.

Instead of letting everything rotate around the boy you're seeing, you should instead sort out your priorities: "My advice about guys has to do with how you prioritise them. They can be a part of your life but never let the guy BE your life. They can live in your world, but never make the guy your world."

In the interview with Twist, she added: "Knowing who you are and being independent and strong will be attractive to the right guy. Try too hard to impress a guy or putting him before your friends and family shows you're not OK with who you are."

She added: "One of my goals is always to be OK and with who I am aside from love and boys."

In other Taylor Swift news, she switched on the Christmas lights at Westfield in west London this evening, wearing a red dress to coincide with the title of her album - Red!

According to AP, she's shocked at how well the record's done, as she said as soon as she left the stage: "I had hoped that my fans would get what I was doing there - that they would embrace it."

She added: "And he fact that they celebrated that and 1.2 million of them went out and bought it the first week and it became my first UK number one album, it is absolutely unbelievable."
