Lady Antebellum, Taylor Swift Factor Large in People's Choice Noms

While that other country music awards show -- the CMAs, is it? -- might be taking the lions' share of the attention of Music City today, the genre was well represented yesterday (Nov. 8) in the announcement of nominees of the 38th Annual People's Choice Awards.

Lady Antebellum found themselves in the thick of one of the biggest musical categories. Their "Own The Night" disc was nominated for overall Album of the Year alongside projects by pop heavyweights Beyonce, Adele, Lady Gaga, and Britney Spears.

The Capitol trio also figured into the Favorite Country Artist category. Also garnering nods there were Rascal Flatts, Blake Shelton, Taylor Swift, and Keith Urban.

Swift also was named in the Favorite Tour Headliner category for her "Speak Now" tour. Her competition is pretty formidable: Bon Jovi, Katy Perry, U2, and Usher. She also tallied a nod for the overall Favorite Female Artist category, as did Shelton in the Favorite Male Category.

Those who want to vote for their favorite stars can do so at PeoplesChoice.com until Dec. 6; winners will be announced during the telecast on Jan. 11.
