Taylor Swift, John Mayer have awkward near run-in, reports say

Taylor Swift and former flame John Mayer, who recently revealed that he felt "humiliated" by one of her breakup songs that is believed to be about him, reportedly got a little too close for comfort at a Los Angeles hotspot.

The two have not commented about the matter. The New York Post reported that Swift, 22, entered the Tower Bar at the Sunset Tower Hotel in West Hollywood on Tuesday and noted Mayer, 34, dining with a friend. She then "demanded to be moved to the other side" of the restaurant, the outlet quoted a source as saying. The magazine Us Weekl! y sa id Swift opted to sit at a table far away from him.

Mayer and Swift collaborated on his 2009 song "Half of My Heart" and are believed to have dated for several months before "Dear John" was released. Swift, 22, wrote "Dear John," a ballad, for her latest and best-selling album "Speak Now," which was released in 2010, while Mayer was on a career hiatus after making controversial comments about his love life in the press.

She has never confirmed that "Dear John" was about the singer. Swift told Yahoo! Music at the time of the release of "Speak Now" that all the tracks are like "a roadmap" to what a particular relationship stood for."

On Wednesday, Rolling Stone posted an interview with Mayer that is included in its upcoming issue. He told the magazine that he felt "humiliated" when he heard "Dear John."

"It made me feel terrible," he said. "Because I didn't deserve it. I'm pretty good at taking accountability now, and I never did anything to deserve that. It was a really lousy thing for her to do."

Swift has not responded to his comments.
