Music awards: Swift
Billboard Woman of Year

Taylor Swift, the four-time Grammy winner and biggest album seller in any genre for the past 12 months, has been chosen to receive the Woman of the Year Award at the 2011 Billboard Women in Music event on Dec. 2 in New York City.

The 21-year-old singer-songwriter is the youngest artist to receive the honor, and it comes on the heels of earning several 2011 Billboard Music Awards, among them Top Country Album for the five-time platinum-selling "Speak Now."

Swift has spent the past year on the Speak Now World Tour in support of her third album, which debuted last October, selling more than a million copies in its first week.

Music awards II: Adele
grabs four AMA nominations

Adele has the year's most popular album with "21," so we suppose it makes sense she's the most nominated artist for this year's American Music Awards.

The British soul singer and songwriter was nominated for artist of the year, favorite female artist, favorite adult contemporary artist and favorite album for "21."

Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Lil Wayne, Katy Perry, Rihanna and The Band Perry all trailed Adele with three nominations each. Lil Wayne, Swif! t, Perry and Lady Gaga are all competing with Adele in the artist of the year category.

Thinner Richard Simmons
'healthiest he's ever been'

Richard Simmons isn't slowing down anytime soon.

Even though the fitness guru, 63, had bloggers buzzing after an appearance on "Dancing with the Stars" -- during which he looked especially thin -- his longtime rep Tom Estey tells People.com, "He's the healthiest he's ever been."

"He's actually at the weight he was when we launched the original Sweatin' to the Oldies," Estey says of the workout videos that launched Simmons' career in 1988.
