Get costumed for Halloween with a Taylor Swift mask, regular or undead

Zombies are likely to be this year's popular Halloween costume, thanks in no small part to former Lexingtonian Robert Kirkman and his graphic novels and hot TV show, The Walking Dead. And one of music's biggest stars, Taylor Swift, is playing Rupp Arena on Saturday. Why not combine the two for a double-duty Halloween costume with our zombified Taylor mask?

If you're not down with an undead Taylor, we've included a human mask. All you have to is click on the links at the right to download PDFs of each mask, cut out the one of your choice and just add the clothes.

Now, use your mask at Halloween, or greet Taylor at the concert with a sea of Swifts, zombie and human, staring back at her.

MAKING THE MASK

We tested the masks and have a few tips for creating a sturdy one.

Use glue or rubber cement, if you're a neatnik to attach this page to a heavy-stock paper product such as a manila file folder, a piece of lightweight cardboard, a piece of poster board, the front of a cereal box, etc. (If you plan to take the mask to the concert, Rupp's rules say it must be the size of an 81/2-by-11-inch piece of paper or smaller.)

Cut as close to the image of the mask as possible.

Glue a paint-mixing stick or a ruler to the back of the mask's chin. (Again, if you're taking the mask to the concert, Rupp says the stick must be flat and no longer than 12 inches.)

After you've attached the cardboard, use scissors or a utility knife to cut out the eyes.

DRESSING THE PART

Human Taylor: The 21-year-old star is fond of girly looks: knee-length skirts and dresses that have a full or trim skirt. Her tops tend to be sleeveless or have a tank-top shape. She's fond of neutrals and gold tones, and she often wears boots.

Zombie Taylor: Follow the above tips but shred, soil and otherwise distress the clothes. Zombies have gray, pale skin, usually with gaping wounds and ripped flesh. Th! ey tend to walk with a shuffling/stumbling gait, dragging their feet and moaning along the way. See if you can moan the lyrics to You Belong With Me.
