Taylor Swift has been inspiring fans with her music since 2006 - now shes encouraging them to read. Joining up with Scholastic Inc., she has donated 6,000 books to local libraries in the aptly named Reading, PA.

Each book was specifically chosen by librarians. Swift wants to help libraries that are struggling economically, reports Seattle Pi.

A white star will appear on the spine of every book, along with a sticker on the inside to signify that Swift donated them. Librarians are optimistic that Swifts popularity with tweens, teens, and parents alike will encourage more people to read. According to Gather, this project is part of a larger child literacy program going on around the country.

While Taylor Swift has gotten her home state in on the action, she hopes the project will spread even further.
