Taylor Swift should be Sandy in remake

Olivia Newton-John thinks Taylor Swift should play Sandy in a 'Grease' remake.

The 63-year-old singer-and-actress - who played the role in the 1978 musical film alongside John Travolta - thinks it would be 'great' if a reboot of the popular movie was created, and she has backed the country singer or her 26-year-old daughter Chloe Rose Lattanzi to play the lead female part.

When asked on 'Showbiz Tonight' if she thinks there will ever be a 'Grease' remake, Olivia said: 'I'm sure they'll try, and I think it would probably do well because people would be curious. But there's something about the originals... that people still want to see. But I'm sure they'll do it, and they'll do an updated version, and it'll be great.

'Lately, I've thought Taylor Swift could probably (play Sandy), because she's very talented. And my daughter, I've always thought she could.'

While Chloe's last role came 10 years ago in Australian musical 'Hair', Taylor recently lent her voice to the character of Audrey in forthcoming Dr. Seuss animated movie 'The Lorax', which sees her star alongside Zac Efron, Ed Helms and Danny DeVito.

The 22-year-old star also appeared as Felicia in 2010 romantic-comedy film 'Valentine's Day', and she starred as herself in her friend Miley Cyrus' 2009 motion picture 'Hannah Montana: The Movie'.
