Canadian Country Music Association honours Taylor Swift with inaugural CCMA Generation Award

Taylor Swift to attend the 2012 CCMA Awards on September 9th in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan to accept award in celebration of her incredible global success

TORONTO, Aug. 27, 2012 /CNW/ - To commemorate thirty years of the Canadian Country Music Association Awards in 2012, the CCMA Board of Directors has established a new award to celebrate those who have been propelled beyond the borders of the country music genre onto an international stage. The CCMA Generation Award will highlight those few select internationally celebrated artists who have pushed country music forward to new audiences and have created and brought awareness of this genre of music across the globe. Recognized as one of the most influential artists of her generation the CCMA Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Taylor Swift will be this year's recipient of the CCMA Generation Award. The 2012 CCMA Awards will air on Sunday, September 9th at 8 p.m. (8:30 p.m. NT) on CBC, with encore airings on CMT.
