Taylor Swift's new track definitely isn't your average bestselling TSwift single- it's even more than that. She's outdone herself yet again, this time delivering the most addictive breakup anthem of the summer, smashing sales records and pretty much EXPLODING the internet with 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.' With a song so epic, you know we can count on our girl to deliver an equally irresistible video. And after waiting for what feels like FOREVER, the pop star finally stopped by MTV tonight to premiere the clip. She told Sway during her MTV First interview that she wanted to keep the video's vibe as "quirky" as the song- this means kitschy apartment decor, dancing animals (otherwise known as her band members), and tons of crazy costume changes. Are you ready for this?!

The video opens with Taylor sitting her apartment, decked out in animal-print pajamas, a sleek ponytail, and red lipstick. But wait- these aren't normal animals on her clothes- she's wearing nightwear covered in colorful woodland creatures. Somehow, considering the knitting-encrusted walls and off-kilter fur! niture, the outfit just feels RIGHT. Plus, with the geek-chic black glasses, her opening look almost seems like a reference to her '09 single "You Belong With Me".... minus the indignant dude in the background, of course.

The video was shot in entirely one take (it took 17 tries to get it perfectly!) so this means a LOT of outfit changes. The crew's strategy? Zippers, velcro, and tons of snaps to make the switch-ups go smoothly. In this scene Taylor goes retro on the TV with a red headband, a mod-inspired shift dress, and some statement earrings. Take a second look and you can even spy her band members- dressed as animals- in the background!

Considering her album title and fashion history with the hue, it's about time Taylor had a red fashion moment. Here she's wearing a cherry-colored polka dot top, a high-waisted skirt, and brown saddle oxfords. If you ask us, the shoes look strikingly similar to the Vintage Shoe Company Oxfords she wore on the single cover, don't you think?! Also, we love how the '50s and '60s-inspired outfit totally mesh! es perfe ctly with the old-school apartment vibe (teacups and diner decor included).

Next up we get a split-second shot of Taylor and her (ex?) BF in the car. She might be mid-breakup here, but she still looks killer in an adorable printed puff-sleeved blouse and signature lipstick.

Not only is this shot amazing because of Taylor's high-necked vintage-inspired dress, but also please note: she's talking on a giant landline phone (remember those?!) with a knitted rabbit beside her. Add a touch of crocheted sheets, and the entire picture is just perfect.

Finally Taylor comes full-circle to her window, this time in a floral frock. There's no question she loves girly garden-party dresses, so we're happy to see her sporting her staple look. She told us tonight that lately she's been inspired by a "lady-like, classy style," and you can totally see that Audrey Hepburn-esque influence here. Most importantly, it's all topped off with sly smile. Who knew breaking up could look so good?
