Swift debuts the single for a New Zealand crowd

Country Singer Taylor Swift has debuted her song, "Eyes Open," from The Hunger Games soundtrack to a New Zealand crowd in Vector Arena, Auckland.

Swift stood in front of the New Zealand audience and expressed her excitement about the track.

"You don't think I'd get in trouble if I played it now? Probably not, right?" Swift said to the screaming fans according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The song opens with the lyrics, "Yesterday we were just children / Playing soldier just pretending / Dreaming dreams with happy endings / In backyards, waging battles with the wooden swords / But now we've stepped into a cruel world / Where everybody stands and keeps score," pertaining to the plot of The Hunger Games.

The song will be heard in the The Hunger Games, that will hit theaters on March 23. It is expected to be one of the biggest movies of the year.

According to The Huffington Post, Swift has two original songs that will be featured on the soundtrack, the other being "Safe & Sound," which was released at the end of last year.

The song leaked online March 15, days before the scheduled March 20 release.

The Hunger Games is the first installment of a series of three books by Suzanne Collins, the other two being Catching Fire and Mockingjay.

Swift's two songs will be joined by tracks from artists such as Miranda Lambert, Arcade Fire, and Kid Cudi.

New Zealand was Swift's last stop on her Speak Now World Tour.
