Taylor Swift, the biggest earning musician in the world last year, managed to send thousands of mostly female fans into hysterics at the first of her three shows at Auckland's Vector Arena last night.

Her Speak Now tour has played 98 shows in 17 countries and Auckland is the tour's last destination.

The show features elaborate costumes, dancers and acrobats on a multi-level stage.

In it, Swift plays five different guitars and changes costumes nine times.
