Taylor Swift confirmed to join ARIA Awards performers

Taylor Swift is to perform at this year's ARIA Awards, it has been confirmed.

The country singer, whose new album Red is out this month, will make an appearance at this year's award ceremony in Sydney on November 29.

"Taylor Swift is the latest performer announced to take to the stage at this year's ARIA awards! She joins a stellar Australian line up," the Australian Recording Industry Association announced on Twitter.

Swift is the first international performer to be confirmed for the awards, joining a lineup which includes The Temper Trap, The Jezabels and Hilltop Hoods.

The ARIAs are Australian music's closest equivalent to the Brit Awards in the UK or the Grammys in the United States, and take place annually.

Gotye and rapper 360 are among the acts leading the nominations for this year's awards.
