Taylor Swift denies 'kidnapping' boyfriend Conor Kennedy

Taylor Swift has denied kidnapping her 18-year-old boyfriend Conor Kennedy and noted, "you can't kidnap a grown man."

The 22-year-old singer is preparing to release her latest album "Red," which hits stores on October 22, and appears on the November issue of Rolling Stone magazine. Swift was accused by tabloids of "kidnapping" Kennedy from high school and flying him to Nashville on her private jet.

"How did I kidnap him?" Swift asked Rolling Stone, laughing. "You can't kidnap a grown man! These are serious accusations, now!"

"It's an interesting way to spin something into a story," Swift joked. "See, this is why I don't read stuff."

Swift also addressed reports that she and Conor had crashed Kyle Kennedy's wedding, upstaged the bride and refused to leave.

"I have no idea what happened there," Taylor said. "I think that story was based on the biggest misunderstanding, 'cause I would never knowingly show up somewhere that I thought I wasn't invited to. And I would never want to upstage anybody."

Swift had a much friendlier welcome from other members of the Kennedy family. Conor's aunt Rory Kennedy said that the singer was "a great friend of all of ours." And when asked if she thought Swift would be a good addition to the Kennedy clan, 84-year-old Kennedy family matriarch Ethel said, "We! should b! e so lucky."

Swift and Kennedy, who is the grandson of Robert F. Kennedy, have been linked together since late July. The two have not confirmed the relationship but have been photographed several times out together.

Swift was originally linked her new boyfriend's cousin, Patrick Schwarzenegger, after she spent the 4th of July at the Kennedy family compound in Hyannic Port, Massachusetts with Schwarzenegger and Kennedy.

There were recently reports that the singer bought a waterfront home across the street from Ethel Kennedy, Conor's grandmother.
