Taylor Swift announces big surprises for album 'Red'

Country megastar Taylor Swift performed at the 2012 iHeartRadio Music Festival this weekend. And although she didnt sing any of her new songs, the singer did reveal some very exciting news in regards to her new album Red, which hits stores nationwide on October 22.

Rolling Stone caught up with Taylor before her big performance to talk new music. I want to unveil the songs one by one, Swift said. Starting this week Im gonna start unveiling new music.

The Never Ever songstress will begin her reveal Monday on Good Morning America, where she will give fans a 30-second preview of a new track every week. Then fans can head to iTunes the following day to download the new jam.

According to MTV News, the songwriting process for Taylors album was an organic one. Ed Sheeran, a UK singer who helped the country star write songs, said, Taylor writes songs in all different situations. I remember we went out. Where did we go? I think we were in the car to the studio and she took her phone out and mumbled something and sort of put it back. And I was like What was that? and she was like Oh, I was just singing down ideas.

Following the release of Red, Swift will appear on Good Morning America October 22 and 23 to promote and celebrate the new album.
