Taylor Swift, Eric Church lead 2012 CMA Awards nominees

Taylor Swift and Eric Church lead this year's Country Music Association Awards nominees.

Swift has received nominations in the 'Female Artist of the Year' and 'Musical Event' categories and is competing against Blake Shelton, Jason Aldean, Kenny Chesney and Brad Paisley for 'Entertainer of the Year'.

Church earned four major nominations for 'Album of the Year', 'Music Video, 'Song of the Year' and 'Single of the Year'.

Little Big Town, Miranda Lambert, Lady Antebellum and Dierks Bentley have also received nods in multiple categories.

The nominees in the CMA's top five categories were announced live by Aldean and Luke Bryan on Good Morning America on Wednesday (September 5).

A further seven categories were revealed later in the day at a CMAs press conference at BB King Blues Club & Grill in New York City.

Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley reunite for a fifth year of hosting the music gala, ! which wi ll air live from Nashville.

The 2012 Country Music Association Awards air on Thursday, November 1 at 8pm ET on ABC.
