Taylor Swift's life in the spotlight

Taylor Swift has sold more than one million albums in Canada and was eager to thank her fans at Canadian countrys biggest night.

She accepted the New Generation award at the Canadian Country Music Awards in Saskatoon Sunday, with a tribute from Bryan Adams that pointed out her huge worldwide popularity and savvy use of social media.

In an interview with CBCs Deana Sumanac about her personal approach to writing songs such as We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together, which expose intense emotions.

The American country star is a multiple Grammy and Country Music Association award winner and has lived her life in the spotlight since her debut album in 2006, but she says she never reveals who she is singing about in those songs.

Swift discusses her philosophy of staying in touch with fans and how she balances the private and public life and her new album Red.
