Taylor Swift gets two Country Music Awards nods

TAYLOR Swift has been nominated for two big prizes at this year's Country Music Association Awards (CMAs).

The singer was recognised in both the female vocalist of the year and entertainer of the year categories.

Taylor faces tough competition in both groups, including Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson for the female vocalist accolade.

Other country stars in the running for entertainer of the year include Blake Shelton, Jason Aldean and Brad Paisley.

Keith Urban and Blake Shelton were named in the male vocalist of the year category.

The nominees in five of the main CMAs categories were announced live on TV show Good Morning America by entertainer of the year nominee Jason and Luke Bryan - who was named in the male vocalist of the year and album of the year groups.

Bad weather delayed Lady Antebellum from also reading out the names.

Following the announcement of nominees in the five big categories, Jason and Luke were set to head over to B.B. King Blues Club and Grill to reveal those in the running for the remaining seven categories.

The 46th Annual CMA Awards will air live on November 1 from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.

The music ceremony will be hosted by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood.
