Taylor Swift may be a countrys cutie, but shes Broadways boot-off.

The Los Angeles Times reported the You Belong With Me singer lost out on a career building role in the upcoming film adaptation of Les Miserables.

The 22-year-old was in talks to play Eponine in the film and was even offered the role earlier this month.

However, MTV News now reports that the role has gone to Samantha Barks, who has much experience with the stage version of the play.

The U.K. native starred in a London production of the musical in 2010 and also sang alongside Nick Jonas at a special 25th Anniversary Concert at the 02 Arena last year.

She also reportedly dated Jonas during that time, another connection she has with Swift, who dated Joe Jonas until he infamously dumped her over the phone.

But Swift isnt the only A-list celebrity the little known 21-year-old has beat out for the role. Evan Rachel Wood, Scarlett Johansson and Lea Michele were also in the running to play the part.

Barks joins the ever-growing star-studded cast of the film, which currently includes Russell Crowe, Hugh Jackman, Eddie Redmayne and Anne Hathaway.

I'm really shocked. It's an incredible cast. ... I'm very excited to meet them and to work with them all, Barks told the BBC when she found out about the good news.

"I've had such an amazing journey with the character. I feel so excited to get to explore another side of her. ... Now it's the film, so it's a big, old journey. ... To get to do the film is absolutely amazing."

The rising starlet also tweeted, Words cannot express how much I! appreci ate all the amazing support I have received from everyone! I haven't stopped smiling!"

Its okay T-Swift, you still have Valentines Day.
